A few more finishes for January

I have a few more finishes to show for January.

First up is Springtime

I have given this to my Mum because she helped me with my crochet blanket which is now finished.

I did most of the squares except for 40 tiny ones which Mum did she also stitched them altogether and put on a border.  I have a great Mum as stitching them together is my least favourite part.

I also finished my Double Take quilt.  Designed by Thimbleblossoms and using Happy Go Lucky.

I also found some Bliss scraps and got myself a pattern by Tied with a Ribbon to make a spool pincushion.

Cute isn't it.  I am using it for a swap gift and I have enough scraps to make a few more to use as swap gifts but think I need to keep one for myself.

Lastly I finished a block on my Deck the Halls stitchery.

Until next time happy stitching.

Friday Night Sew In

Last night I started something new.  My Moda Modern Building Blocks quilt.  It arrived just before Christmas but with going away and wanting to get a few other things done together with swap commitments I had resisted but last night I could resist no longer.

The first block all cut.

And the first block finished.  It is a whopping 36 inchs.  There is one more block this size then smaller ones it is a very large quilt 48 blocks in all so only 47 to go.

Hope you all had a productive night and thanks Wendy for hosting.  Until next time happy stitching.

I have a lot of UFOS I am to scared to count how many so I am going to try and get on top of some of them.  I pulled out one of my boxes and there was three unfinished quilt tops so I challenged myself to get them to flimsy stage by the end of this month I am pleased to say I have one empty box and three flimsies.

First is Lucky by Thimbleblossoms using Scrumptious.

Next was Surfside same details as above.

Next was Sweet Pea by Cotton Way using Vintage Modern.  I have ordered some backing fabric for this one and think I will quilt it myself the other two I think I will get professionally quilted.

The reason why I didn't do a post over the weekend is I was busy quilting.

All basted my Springtime quilt designed by Leanne Milsom of Lizziethequilter.  It has been a flimsy for some time.  Now it is all quilted.

And ready for stitching the binding down.

The fabric is Happy Go Lucky by Bonnie and Camille do I have some tv stitching to do while I watch the tennis.

Until next time happy stitching.

Friday Sewing

nI spent the whole of Friday sewing so I got quite a bit done.  It is great having holidays unfortunately I have to go back to work tomorrow but it pays for the fabric.

I managed to finish four things some were partly started.

A Rosalie Quilan Christmas Treasures Wreath which I put on a canvas.

Three Handmade Bags pattern by Bonnie of Cotton Way using Bonnie and Camille Fabrics.  These will be used for some swaps I am in.

I also manage to get my blocks together on my Puddle Jumping quilt pattern by Camille of Thimble Blossoms.  It just needs borders.

Until next time happy stitching.

Slow off the Mark

Happy New Year.  I am a bit slow off the mark this year.  I went to Darwin for Christmas and then brought back my nephews and niece with me to Melbourne to visit the rest of the family.  We came back via Adelaide so it was a long day.  I have been spending time with them so I haven't done that much sewing.  It is nice being on holidays.

I have joined a couple of swaps on Instagram you can find me @quiltingwithkim so I have been working on presents.  One is a 12 month swap and the other is a one off both are Bonnie and Camille swaps so just perfect for me.

This is what I have made.

This is Mini Rise and Shine using Vintage Modern and Miss Kate and is my first finish for the year.

Mini Norway using Happy Go Lucky.  Both patterns are by Thimble Blossoms.

I am also sewing my stash.  This is my first stash block.

The book is Scrap Inc and there are 15 different scrappy quilts by different designers including one by Camille Roskelley and one by Sherri McConnell two of my favourite designers.

I hope everyone is enjoying their holidays.

Until next time happy stitching.
