Santa Sack Swap

I participated in Cheryll's Santa Sack Swap again this year.  My partner was Kaye from Kitten Stitching.

These are all the lovely gifts I received.

A teddy stocking isn't it so cute.  I just adore teddies.

A beautiful pillow.  Kaye does beautiful cross stitching.

This photo is a bit deceptive as this is a little pillow much smaller than the other one.

And this pin cushion isn't it adorable.

And this beautiful framed toy shop cross stitch with beading.

A tea bag holder.

Some extra goodies.

Thanks Kaye I just love my gifts and a big thank you to Cheryll from Gone Stitching for organising this great swap.

OPAM November

Wow it is the 1st of December and I just can't believe where the time has gone.  I had 14 finishes this month including some big quilts that I quilted myself and had been tops for some time.

I finished all my swap sewing so I had some selfish sewing time.

I forgot to take a photo of these finished but they have gone off to new homes. I so need to make a Snowman for myself as I love the pattern I have made it twice both for swap gifts.

A Hazel cushion that is on the way to Germany.

My Thimble Blossoms Sampler all fabric was from my stash including the backing.

My Christmas Wreaths.

This is the stack of quilts I finished.  I quilted them all myself.

Christmas in the Cabin pattern by Janelle Wind.

Framed from Simply Retro book by Camille Roskelley.

Wild Thing also by Camille.

Shine by Sherri McConnell.

Apologies for the bad photos I hadn't had a chance to take photos over the weekend and it is a bit dark already here tonight.

Until next time happy sewing.

Just recently I have received some beautiful swap gifts.  I love participating in swaps but for next year I am going to take a break from most of them as I have too many things not started or partly started that I haven't been able to do and with postage costs especially since I have been doing some international swaps it gets a bit expensive.

I was in a Christmas mini swap with my Secret Stitching Sisters and I received this gorgeous one from Jo.

I just love all the buttons I already have it hanging in my lounge room it isn't too early to start Christmas decorating.

I also received my last Bonnie and Camille birthday gifts from Claire.  Claire has had some back problems so her gifts were late which she had let me know and it was well worth the wait as they are all so great.

Totally spoilt.

Getting my Santa Sack swap parcel together now ready for posting next week.

Until next time happy sewing.

It has been a while

Sorry for having been gone for so long.  I keep meaning to do a post but just didn't get to it I have been doing lots of swap sewing and then I got food poisoning which knocked me about for about a week.

I made this quilt for my sister's sister in law's new baby girl.  The pattern is out of Camille Roskelley's book Simpilfy and is called Little Man but I did a girl version.

I started a new quilt top this is called At the Crossroads and is a pattern by Aqua Paisley and she is an Australian designer.  The fabric is Hello Darling and Vintage Picnic by Bonnie and Camille.

I made this Kim mini for my friend Kim McArthur who is part of my Bonnie and Camille birthday swap.  She received it today and it was so fun to make now I need to make one for me.

I also started my Sweet Talk quilt just need to do borders.  Pattern by Cottonway and fabric is Hello Darling.

I finished my Raincheck quilt pattern by Thimble Blossoms and  fabric is April Showers.

That is what I have been up to or as much as I can show without giving away too much.

Until next time happy sewing.

The Kittens

I recently made a mini for Claire as part of the birthday club I am in.  I had so much fun making it even though I am not really a cat person.

Orange kitty.

Red polka dot kitty.

Aqua flower kitty.

Pink Paisley kitty.

All the kitties together.

All finished.  Claire received it yesterday and she loves it.  All fabric is Bonnie and Camille as it is a Bonnie and Camille birthday club.  The pattern is called The Kittens by Elizabeth Hartman.

These are the little extras a pincushion and potholder.

Until next time happy sewing.

August OPAM

Not many finishes this month I have been making blocks for a couple of swaps I am in and starting new things.

I forgot to take a photo of a couple of things before I posted them oops.  I made a potholder but no photo and my Saltwater mini photo is before it was totally finished.

You can see a bit of the potholder.

Mini Social Butterfly I have plans to make the big version of this quilt.  I found some Bliss fabric hidden away in my stash.

The other finish was my Lollies Quilt which is in my last post and a one hour basket which is part of a swap gift so I am keeping that under wraps but trust me it looks good.

September will be much more productive as I have two weeks holidays I can't say how much I am looking forward to 5.00 pm Friday.  Much sewing is planned.

Happy sewing.

Sunday, August 23, 2015

Today I had a finish my Lollies quilt it has taken me a while to get the binding on but I thought I better get it done as I am picking up two more quilts next weekend from the quilters.

The pattern is by a Thimble Blossoms and the fabric is Scrumptious with some Miss Kate in the border, binding and backing.

A closer photo before the binding went on.

Today I have worked on some secret sewing for some swaps so no photos but it has been good to make a start.  I was feeling a bit stuck on one swap but after catching up with Shez and Barb yesterday they gave me some good ideas so am on my way.  Thanks friends.

Until next time happy stitching.

Eight finishes for July.  I did a lot of block sewing in July so hopefully they will become quilt tops in the not so distant future.

Here are some of my finishes some I can't show as they are for swaps.

How quickly has this month gone but bring on August which means Hello Darling will be arriving soon.  I have preordered quite a bit and I have some plans for it.  Lucky for me I am having holidays in early September and plan to do lots of sewing.

Until next time happy sewing.

Giving Christmas in July

I just loved making Christmas gifts for the Christmas in July Swap.  My partner was Kaylee and I had a bit of a red and white theme going without realising it until the end.

All wrapped ready to post.

All the gifts I made.

Roly Poly Santas designed by the very talented Gail Pan and all fabrics are from my stash.

I can't remember the name of this pattern but I found it in an American magazine when I was sorting through all my magazines and just had to make it.  I really need to make one of these for myself it was hard to send this off.

And the last gift was a Christmas one hour basket.  This is a free pattern on Craftsy and only take an hour and are great for fat quarters.

Until next time happy sewing.

Christmas in July

Finally yesterday was opening day for Christmas in July.  I received my gifts from my lovely friend Shez of Enjoying Life.  She was so organised that when we met up in May she had my gifts ready.  I had to hide them in the cupboard so I wouldn't be tempted by them.

I hung my gift bag at the end of the bed on Friday night.

Look how beautifully wrapped they were I so need wrapping lessons.

Now here they are all opened.

Close ups.

A gorgeous Fig n Berry runner.

Shez's famous hand towels.

One of Shez's gorgeous decorations.

Some lovely extras and a beautiful handmade card.

Thank you so much Shez I just love everything you have made for me.

A big thanks to Cheryll of The Stitching Cubbyhole for hosting such a wonderful swap.

I will be back soon to show what I made.

Until next time happy stitching.
