Busy Beaver

I have done quite a few things this past week.  I needed my sewing to keep me sane this week.  Work has been extremely stressful with new computers being installed.

This is what I have been doing.

My Beatle Bag.  I used the same reds from Scrumptious but inside I used an aqua.

Just need to stitch up the pin cushion then this one is finished.

Next up is row three of Goodnight Irene using my Bonnie and Camille fabrics.  I love how this is turning out.

Raincheck is now a top and in the pile to get quilted.  Now I will have to do my Mini Raincheck.

Speaking of minis a few years ago I signed up to a mini club for English Paper Piecing.  There were six mini quilts using different shapes.  Needless to say I had not finished any of them and they had been sitting in the half done pile.  I can now say I have one finished and five to go.  Two are nearly up to the quilting stage so some progress has been made.

Block 2 of my Hapiness quilt.  This was foundation pieced which I haven't done too much of so it was a bit of a challenge.

And lastly

Blocks 3 and 4 of my Wishes quilt along.  Block 4 was just released yesterday but since I hadn't done block 3 I thought I would do them both at once and now I am up to date which is good.

I didn't realise how much I had done until I took my photos plus I have a couple of other things for swaps which I will show when they have been received.

Until next time happy stitching.

Swoon and Fresh

I made it to Mum's today and took photos of a couple of quilts that were too big for me to take photos of at my little unit.

First up is my completed Swoon quilt.

I couldn't get the whole quilt as it was dragging on the ground but you can see more of it than my other photos.  I love this quilt and I am snuggled under it right now as it is cooler tonight.

Next is my Fresh quilt which is for my niece.  I took it to the quilter's today now just have to save to pay for it.  It is a really big quilt and it was a pain trying to iron it.  Again I couldn't get the whole quilt in.

I am getting the same quilting design on this as on Swoon.

Until next time happy stitching.

A Few Things

I have been working on some swap presents this week so I had to hunt around to find some things to show.

First up is a partly completed quilt top which just needs borders.  It is called Springtime and is by Leanne Milsom www.lizzie-the-quilter.blogspot.com.au.   I had some left over Happy Go Lucky charm squares and I got border and backing  fabric from the same range on special.  Yeah!

Next up is my umbrella tops which are now all sewn just need to attach them to their blocks.  The one on top is a favourite.

And lastly is progress on Cornelian.  There are four of these hexy strips.  I have nearly finished the stitching on this one then three more to go.  It is a lot of work for the month so I think I will take some extra time.  I have all my blocks now as Quilt Fabric Delights is closing down which is really sad.  If you are looking for some bargains Sarah currently has 40% off everything.  I got a whole bunch of Bonnie & Camille fabric.

Until next time happy stitching.

Friday Night With Friends

Hi Everyone,

Last night I had a bit of goal to get all my Fresh blocks put together.

I had been working on them all week and this is what they looked liked before I got sewing last night.

And after I had finished sewing I had five finished blocks.  Yeah!!

I have now completed all 16 blocks so the next step is to sew them all together which I plan to do this weekend.   Then it will be off to the long arm quilter ready in plenty of time for my niece's birthday in August.

Thanks Cheryll for hosting.

Until next time happy stitching.

Swoon and Other Things

I got to pick up my Swoon quilt from the long arm quilters at the weekend so I have been busy sewing on the bidding.

I will take a full photo when I can take it to Mum's I don't have enough room to get a good photo.

A close up of the quilting which I just love.  The quilting design is called Popcorn.  It was done by Jemima's Creative Quilting.  They do such a great job.  I have dropped two more quilts in to be done.  I have a box full of tops ready to be quilted.

Pippa is all finished and ready to be hung on the wall in my sewing room.  She is going to keep me company while I sew.

Block 2 of the Fat Quarter Shop Wishes Quilt Along.

Block 1 of the Happiness Quilt BOM in Homespun.

I am up to date on the BOMs I have started this year so I am pretty pleased with myself.
