Quilt Tops

I have finished a couple of quilt tops this week which now are in the quilting pile.  I also have the centre of Cornelian together and am up to doing the borders.

I am pleased with how it is coming together.  I also was able to see Helen's original at AQC which is just stunning.

This is Christmas Cabin by Cottonway and uses April Showers by Bonnie and Camille.  I love the fresh look of the fabrics something a bit different for Christmas instead of the darker colours in many Christmas ranges.

I didn't quite have enough room to lay this out flat but it is Flowergirl  by Thimble Blossoms using Marmalade by Bonnie and Camille.  I have had it partially done for a while so it is nice to have at least the top done.

Until next time happy stitching.

Friday Sewing

Since it was a public holiday on Friday I enjoyed a full day of sewing and managed to finish a couple more things.

It is a bit hard to see but I traced out some stitcheries for a new small quilt.  I got this at AQC it is by Teddlywinks and is a new pattern called Little Creatures and has ladybugs (my Favourite), butterflies (Mikayla's favourite), caterpillars and even a spider (definitely not my sister Jessica's favourite).  It is all very cute.  I am going to save the stitching for when I go to visit Mikayla in a month.

Next up I had this quilt top in the cupboard for a while it is Marmalade flannel and as Jessica is expecting a little boy in July I quilted and bound it so I all organised for the baby's arrival.

I also made another Rainy Day sewing bag and I have put my binding clips inside.  I used the leftover April Showers from my Starlight quilt.  There are enough leftovers for at least one more.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Easter break and has fitted in some extra sewing time.

Three Finishes.

I have finished three little projects.

First up is a little pillow using Scrumptious by Bonnie and Camille.  A very easy pattern which did not take long to do.  Pattern is by Its Sew Emma.

Next up is a Christmas table topper which is a pattern from last year's Quilt Fabric Delights Christmas in July.

Lastly is a Monster Pincushion by Helen Stubbings.  I went to AQC last week and did a make and take class with Helen.  I picked up some good tips from her and I purchased some of the appliqué needles tha Helen uses which I found are much better than I had been using.

I did get some other treasures.

The quilts on display were all great.  I kept thinking wow and then I look at the next one and think exactly the same.  I also went to a talk by Monica Poole and got some tips on quilt as you go for the Happiness Quilt I am making.

Hope everyone has a lovely Easter I am off to do some sewing.

Happy stitching.

This year I am participating in a few swaps.

First up is the 12 inch Easter mini but I forgot to take a photo of my mini.  I remembered when I had sealed up the package.  I received this lovely mini from Pam of

How cute is the bunny with his huge Easter Egg.  Thanks Cheryll for a wonderful swap.  I have worked out what I am doing for the next 12 inch mini swap.

The other swap I am participating in is Mrs Martin's Home Sweet Home Swap.  This time I remembered to take photos but I had thought the first room was the kitchen.  I merrily made my gift and sent it off then discovered I should of made something for the sewing nook.  Oops!  Anyway Michelle liked her present and I will make something for the sewing nook when everyone else is making something in the kitchen.

Table topper designed by Sherri McConnell of A Quilting life using Grant Park by Minick and Simpson.

Oven Mitt by Cotton Way using Happy Go Lucky by Bonnie and Camille.  I have had this pattern for a while so was glad I had a chance to use it.  I need to make some more of these as I think they will make lovely gifts.

Both projects.

This is what Michelle of made for me.

This is one of Michelle's own designs called Audrey.  It is a paper piecing pouch which is so lovely.  The pattern is for sale at Mrs Martin's Quilt Shop.

Thank Pam and Michelle for my lovely gifts.

Until next time happy stitching.

Friday Night with Friends

Last night I worked on my Starlight quilt.  It is a newbie.  I spent the week cutting and preparing so that on Friday I could sew.  There was also a bit of pressing.  Starlight is designed by Camille Roskelly of Thimble Blossoms and is made with April Showers by Bonnie & Camille.  I am sure no one is surprised by that since I am a known Bonnie & Camille addict and proud of it.

These are the scrappy triangles.

This is the first star.

I need to cut more navy triangles and also the large white triangles that go in between the stars.

The name of this quilt made me think of a book I read as a child and part of it when like this

Star light star bright
First star I see tonight
Wish I may wish I might
Make a wish with all my might.

Think I may have to make a wish tonight hopefully it won't be too cloudy.

Thanks for an enjoyable evening stitching with you all and thanks Cheryll for being such a lovely hostess.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and hope you all have lots of sewing time.

I am blogging with my IPad so I haven't yet worked out how to link to other blogs and that is why my photos have been large.

Until next time happy stitching.
