Another Finish

I have finished by Summers Bouquet Quilt designed by Gail Pan.  I have used totally different colours to what Gail used.

A close up. I just quilted in the ditch and then did crosses on the patchwork blocks.  I did it on the machine.
Until next time happy stitching.

Good Night Irene Sew Along

I have joined a Sew Along after I saw Good Night Irene quilts popping up a few different blogs I thought it would make a good quilt to use up some of my Bonnie and Camille scraps.

I dived into my Bonnie and Camille scrap bin and pulled out all the little 2.5 inch scraps.  Lets just say that there were plenty.

I cut and cut not sure how many I actually didn't count.

My pile ready to be sewn.

I have used a white on white tone print that has hexagons on it. It was in the cupboard.

This is my progress so far.

I really like how it has turned out but I am partial to my Bonnie and Camille fabrics.

Until next time happy stitching.

Friday Night Sew In and Mill Rosie Friends

Friday saw me back working on my Cornelian quilt.  I managed to finish all the hexies and sew them onto the block and so this block is now complete.

I am really enjoying making this quilt.

Yesterday I joined the Mill Rosie Friends for the first time.  I had the most wonderful time and everyone was so lovely.  I am looking forward to the next time already.

This time round they had a red swap.  This is what I made.

It is a design by Abbey Lane Quilts and is called The Beatle Bag.  I used my favourite fabric range Scrumptious.

Now I have to finish the one I started for me.

This is what I received in the swap.  I love the cute little bunny on the front and all the extra goodies inside.  It was made by Barb.  She has done such a wonderful job.

These are all the swap presents.  All of them were so beautifully made.

It was very inspiring seeing what everyone was making and I had absolutely the best time.

Until next time happy stitching.

Friday Night With Friends

Last night I started a new project Raincheck by Thimbleblossoms using April Showers by Bonnie and Camille.

I spent the evening pressing fabric and cutting.  This is the progress so far.

First I cut out 49 blocks for the background.

Then I cut out some of the umbrella shapes.

Now I have the handles and the pieced umbrella shapes to go.

Hope you had a great evening sewing.  Thanks  Cheryll for hosting.

Until next time happy stitching.

Initial Heart Swap

Last night I received my parcel from De for the Initial Heart Swap.  De was my swap partner as well and we both managed to get Australia Post to deliver our parcels on the same day which was really nice.

This is what I received from De.

A thread catcher which is so handy and a needlecase/pocket and of course some yummy chocolate.  De really kept to the heart theme with heart fabrics and buttons.  Thanks so much De I love my gifts.

This is what I sent to De.

A bag for scissors it is a pattern by Marg Low, together with some pink heart fabric, some heart pins and some sweet heart lollies.  I was really worried about sending chocolate in the post I had visions of my parcel sitting on the tarmac at the airport in 40 degree heat and De receiving a melted mess hence I went with the sweet hearts.

Thanks De I have already been using my thread catcher and also a big thanks to Cheryll for organising the swap it was great fun.

Until next time happy stitching.

Swaps and some Sewing

This year I have joined some swaps.  The Fat Quarter Swap and Birthday Swap which continues throughout the year.  January had three birthdays.  This what I sent.

This is what I received.

I am going to use them  in some Christmas projects.

I have also joined two of Cherryl's swap the 12 inch mini group and the Initial Heart Swap.  I posted my parcel off last Friday.

Can't show you yet what is inside.

I have also done a little sewing.

A couple more Fresh blocks.

A project that I have had half started for some time.  I had the sewing mat finished but just hadn't got around to doing the pincushion and tread catcher.  The pattern was from Homespun 92 (Vol 12.1).  It is called Beyond Measure and was designed by Roslyn Mirrington.  There is also a sewing machine cover which I haven't yet made.  I have used Ruby by Bonnie & Camille yes that is how long ago I started it.

Until next time happy stitching.
