Santa Sack Swap

This year I participated in Cheryll's Santa Sack Swap which has been great fun making things and receiving some lovely gifts.  My partner was Pat and she totally spoiled me.

Here is my loot.

Now I know why it came in two parcel post envelopes.  Pat I can't say thank you enough for all my lovely gifts.  Also a big thank you to Cheryll for organising this swap.

This is what I sent Pat minus the tea towel I sent I forgot to take a photo of that and also the chocolates I sent.

There is only one bag but each side was different.

The elf table runner was designed by Leanne of Lizziethequilter I adapted the pattern to a table runner for ease of posting.

Lastly a Christmas Tree wall hanging.

Thanks again Pat.  I am looking forward to doing this swap again next year.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I am having a little break but will be back in the New Year with more new and UFOs to show you.

Mid Week Catch Up

Just thought I would do a mid week post to show what I have been sewing.

First up a finish.  Mini Spools by Thimbleblossoms using Scrumptious, Vintage Modern and Happy Go Lucky.

Next another finish a baby sampler for my cousin's daughter again using Scrumptious.  Gaia's quilt was made with Scrumptious so it will match.

More finishes I used my left over half square triangles from my Night Sky Quilt to make 24 pot holders.

This is the progress on my Night Sky Quilt.

Then another top I finally got around to finishing my Good Night Irene top just need to quilt it.  I am giving this one to my sister to give to her friend who is going to be a granny for the first time in January.

Lastly is my Mini Shine top using Daysail.  Pattern by Sherri McConnell just have to see what I have left over from my Daysail fat quarter bundle before I can back it.

One more photo.  I bought myself a present.

Am looking forward to having a play with this over my Christmas break.  Hopefully it will save looks of cutting time.

Until next time happy stitching.

Friday Night Sew In

Thanks Wendy for hosting Friday Night Sew In.  I didn't do much sewing last night but lots of cutting for my Night Sky Quilt by Thimble Blossoms.  This is the fabric I am using.

Aloha Girl by Figtree & Co.

This is all my cutting nicely labeled so I know what is what.  I just need to cut the background fabric then I will be ready to sew.

Then I needed to watch Gracepoint so I did a little hand stitching.

This is a kit I got earlier in the year by Hugs n Kisses called Edelweiss.  I have only just started.

And during the week I worked on a quilt for my nephew called Smooth Sailing by Cotton Way using Daysail by Bonnie & Camille because I couldn't do a post without some Bonnie & Camille fabric.

This is the first block.

Until next time happy stitching.

Two Blocks Three Quilt tops

I am on holidays so I have more sewing time.

This what I have done today.

Two blocks from Gail Pan's Angel's Sewing Basket.  I have used left over Scrumptious fabric.  The first block needs some tracing and stitching in the cream border.

Over the last few days I have finished three quilt tops ready to be quilted.

First up is my Quilt Aid quilt.  This is from 2011 so to say I am a little excited that it is finished is an understatement.

It was a bit hard to get a photo as it is a large quilt and I don't have that much room.  I will get this one professionally quilted.

Next up is Shine by Sherri McConnell of A Quilting Life.

And lastly is Potluck also by Sherri using Bonnie and Camille's new range of fabric called Daysail.

I really enjoyed making this one.  I have used an aqua from Miss Kate for the border.

Until next time happy stitching.
