The Good Friday Super Sewathon

Yes I have spent the day sewing.

Firstly I finished quilting my Vintage Holiday quilt so now it just needs to be trimmed and have the binding put on.  The weather is becoming more favourable for putting binding on quilts.

During the week I spent time cutting and ruling lines so that I would be ready to sew.

This is the cut pieces Camille Roskelley's Double Take Quilt using Happy Go Lucky.

This is Star Blossoms by Bonnie of Cotton Way using Marmalade.  I had this cut out for a while just had to draw the lines and find time to do it.

These are the pieces for Topsy Turvy also by Bonnie and using Happy Go Lucky.

These are the pieces for a quilt by Camille called Hash Tag it is one of her quilts for her Craftsy lessons which I have been watching.  She gives some great tips and I have learnt some new ways to do things.

Putting together the Double Take Blocks.
 Progress.

The finished blocks.  Now I just have to decide on placement.

 The first Hash Tag block.

The first Star Blossoms Block.  This one is a little tricky lots of seams but I love how it turned out it just takes a little while to put together.  19 more to go.
Half way through putting the corners on the Topsy Turvy blocks but was getting a little tired.

As you can see these are mostly "new" projects so not much success with finishing things.  I got tempted by the new Happy Go Lucky fabric so I had to have a play with it.  I am just waiting on the yardage to be available from the shops which isn't due until May so maybe I will have all the blocks ready to go by them but no promises as you never know what temptation is around the corner.

Until next time happy stitching.

What has been happening

This last week I have been busy stitching and finishing off a baby quilt for my sister's sister-in-law's baby.  My sister Robyn is coming down on Sunday with Thomas, Joshua and Mikayla so I am looking forward to seeing them again to see how much they have grown.

This is the baby quilt.  Made from scraps using the disappearing 9 patch.  It is very easy to make and I quilted it with a cross hatch pretty simple.

More quilting this is my Vintage Holiday and I am just quilting in the ditch.

I have managed to get my hands on some precuts of Bonnie & Camille's next fabric range called Happy Go Lucky.  I have been cutting and sewing blocks for two quilts from Camille's Double Take pattern whilst I wait for the yardage to arrive in shops.

This is my Lynette Anderson stitchery completed now I just need to put it together.

Lucky for me I am having some time off work over Easter so I plan to do lots of sewing, stitching, quilting and watching my Craftsy Classes only two more days of work.  I have been counting down for a while.

Until next time happy stitching.

I'm Back

I haven't had a chance to blog in a while as I have been sick and also went away for a long weekend.  I went  to Hobart for a sewing weekend with Helen Stubbings and Lynette Anderson which was really fun.  I also went to Port Arthur on the Sunday which was very interesting.

I also have been doing lots of sewing and stitching.

First some blocks in progress.

This is a pattern by Thimble Blossoms called Simple Charm.  It is a little table topper set on point.

Another Thimble Blossoms pattern called Flower Girl.  I have made more of these blocks and this is just a sample.  I have a couple more to go but need to do some recutting as my stripes were going the wrong way. I had to get a new rotary cutter as my old one was not working properly.  I purchased some cheap blades and the rotary cutter has not been the same since it was getting annoying so I gave in and purchased a new one today.  A lesson learnt not to buy cheap blades but to stick to the the Clover branded blades and just wait until they are on sale.
Another Thimble Blossoms pattern called Marmalade using Marmalade.  I need to add borders to this one.
Wild Thing by Thimble Blossoms.  This is ready to go into the draw for quilting.
Dilly Dally by yes Thimble Blossoms also ready for quilting.
Churn Dash and you would not believe but this is not a Thimble Blossoms pattern but by Basic Grey.
This is Helen's kit from the stitching day.
 This is Lynette's project.
Hexies from Helen's project.  She uses iron on hexies which don't have to be removed.  I think I am going to enjoy using these so I got some extras to play with.
This is my name tag from the day so cute.
I have also done some EPP as well.
Until next time happy stitching.
