I have just been away on holidays visiting my sister in Katherine NT and then had a few days in Darwin.  The weather was warm and sunny but now back in the cold.  Can you believe overnight in Darwin it was 19 and then back in Melbourne it is only 14 during the day.  It was nice to get away from the cold for a couple of weeks.

It was great catching up with my niece Mikayla and nephews Thomas and Joshua.  I went to lots of great places and had just the best time I can't wait to go back and see them again.

This is what we got up to

This is my sister Robyn at the Butterfly Farm.  The butterflies were just beautiful colours sometimes to quick for the camera.

Mikayla, Thomas and Joshua with their carrots to feed the bunnies at the Butterfly Farm.
Florence Falls at Litchfield National Park.

 The termite mounds.

Dinner at Stokes Hill Wharf Darwin
I even had my own place.

The Croc Park.  I was the bravest and held a baby croc.

The boys climbing a tree along the Katherine River.
Thomas and Mikayla at the Katherine Show with the bags full of freebies in the background.

Katherine Gorge.  This is a really special place and the highlight of my trip besides seeing the family.

Kakadu - Yellow River Cruise we had a not so friendly companion swimming along side for a while.
 Rock Art at Nourlangie
I also visited the Darwin Military Museum and the Oil Storage Tunnels and would highly recommend these to anyone visiting Darwin.  In all it was a great trip and needless to say I haven't done much sewing over the last couple of weeks but I intend to rectify that I am setting myself a challenge to make some Christmas gifts so my challenge is to finish one per week not sure how this will go and some weeks I may fail but I thought if I shared then I might be more likely to work on it.

Until next time Happy Stitching!

Christmas in July

Lots of fun happening over at Quilt Fabric Delights Christmas in July.  All the projects have been really lovely  and there are more to come.

I have started my first project.

Gail Pan's Christmas Delights

I have completed the stitcheries and just need to make it up into a little wall hanging.  I have used a green Cottage Garden Thread.

This isn't a Christmas in July project but it is a Christmas pattern.

Vintage Holidays by Camille Roskelley of Thimble Blossoms just needs to be quilted.

I am away for the next couple of weeks visiting family so until next time Happy Stitching.

Christmas in July 1 and 2

Hi everyone,

I am just posting photos of some of the projects I have made from the patterns from the first two Christmas in July.  I do have other projects which are not yet completed.

Merry Christmas gift bag designed by Melissa Goodsell
This Christmas Night designed by Gail Pan.
Christmas Wreath designed by Gail Pan.
This was my gift from the 1st Christmas in July swap.

Ginger Snap designed by Rachel Measham-Pywell

Christmas Joy designed by Rachael Merrick

Snowball's for Christmas by Natalie Lymer Cinderberry Stitches
Another Ginger Snap.

I know I have a couple of unfinished projects and another finished project which I must not have taken a photo of.  I will dig it out for show and tell.  I also confess to having a couple of kits which I haven't started.  Don't think I am alone on that count.  Must dig them out and make a start.

Until next time Happy Stitching.

Christmas in July

It is Christmas in July again at Quilt Fabric Delights with lots of lovely projects and much fun in the chat room and on the forum.

I haven't started any projects as yet but this is what I have been up to over the last couple of weeks

These are my Vintage Holiday blocks made from Vintage Modern by Thimble Blossoms - Camille Roskelley just need to do the sashings and put on the borders.

Another block of Mikayla's quilt just need to add the features and then I will be up to putting the blocks together before adding more applique.  Hopefully this will be ready by Christmas and that will be a present sorted.
Hair clips and ties for Mikayla and her friend for when I go to visit.  Mikayla's are the purple ones by special request.

Until next time happy stitching
