Tail Feathers

C'mon let me see you shake your tail feathers, c'mon let me see you shake your tail feathers.  They're the only words I know of that song.  Why am I singing these words over and over in my tuneless voice.

Now that is worth singing about.  Tail Feathers is finished in the queue to go to the machine quilter.  Most of the fabric has come from my stash but the stash doesn't seem any smaller.

Until next time happy stitching

The Big Oops

I had one of the moments.  I had been merrily stitching my Christmas Tree Skirt stitcheries and just ironed on the transfer for the fifth and sixth ones when I put the pattern shape over the fabric only to discover that I had put the transfers on the fabric the wrong way.  Oops!!!  Should have checked this before I got stuck into the stitching.  Lesson learnt.

All is not lost though.  I am using the six stitcheries and making two table runners and using them as Christmas gifts so maybe it wasn't so bad after all.

So here is the first one together with some close ups.

I have been working on this The Babushka Tree.  I have used the Sunkissed range of fabric by Sweetwater.  It is ready to be quilted so into the pile of tops it goes while I save for my Janome Horizon.

Until next time happy stitching.

Christmas in July

I have made another Ginger Snap bag.  This time I fussy cut some fabric instead of doing a stitchery.

I used some Jovial fabric that I got while I was in New York.  I have more of these bags to make no wrapping gifts for me this year.

Until next time happy stitching

Christmas In July

I've finished a Christmas in July project.  Okay yes I am bragging.

It is Ginger Snap by Rachel Measham-Pywell from Four Wise Monkeys.  I have used Lynette Anderson's Scandinavian Christmas fabric range and instead of buttons I have used crystals.  It was so quick and easy to make just like the pattern said.  It even has a present inside so I have one present gift wrapped already. (Now I am really bragging).   I am going to make a few more of these bags but instead of doing stitcheries I thought I could fussy cut some Christmas fabrics even quicker.

Until next time happy stitching
