A New Project

I purchased a kit last year to make a quilt for my youngest niece Mikayla last year but put it aside as I got it on special and was not in a hurry to make it for her.  I have finally given into temptation.  It is by Amy Bradley and is called Ballerina Kitties

The ballet shoes.

The kittie.  I haven't done the blocks in order but have started with the smaller blocks with less work.  I am doing my blanket stitching by hand so is a good job to do when you need something you don't need to think about.

Mikayla.  Hopefully she will be smiling when she receives her quilt.

I am starting As Time Goes By by Helen Stubbings at a class this Tuesday so looking forward to that.

Until next time Happy Stitching

Birth Sampler

I finished my birth sampler for my cousin's little boy Ashely who was born in January.  I have just found out that another cousin is expecting due later in the year.  This sampler is stretched over an artist canvas which is very easy to do.  It is a design by Cinderberry Stitches.

You are probably wondering why you are getting another blog so quickly but I have put Google Chrome on my netbook so that I can now download photos to my blog so I am doing a test run to make sure I am able to work everything before I go away.  There are 43 days to go can't wait.

Until next time happy stitching.

Jessica and Glen's Engagement

My youngest sister celebrated her engagement last Saturday night.  I had a quilt for her 30th birthday which is next year so I decided to give it to her and Glen as an engagement present.  I had made the top a while ago in a class it is called Iced Mocha.  I sent it off to the quilter to get it professionally quilted and had the binding sewn on in plenty of time.

This is the happy couple.

This is the yummy cake.

It was lovely catching up with family including my sister and her children from Katherine.  My aunt and uncle from Queensland and a cousin and her family from Wagga.

Until next time happy stitching

Another Finished Project

I am on a bit of a roll getting projects finished this year which is really exciting.  This is another Christmas one I love making Christmas things.  Not sure where I will be hanging it.

Can you guess who designed this pattern?

Of course it is the talented Natalie Lymer of Cinderberry Stitches.  This pattern is called Tis the Season.  Natalie's drawings are just so cute and her choice in thread colour is great.  It is not traditional Christmas colours but it is nice to have something different.

I have also finished the top of my Woodland Magic quilt designed by my other favourite Natalie - Natalie Ross.  I have used the Bliss range of fabrics (again).  I still love this range of fabric and Bonnie and Camille are working on their next range of fabric called Ruby to see a seek peak visit Camille's blog just love her red polka dot chair.

A close up.
Just love the lady bugs.

The full quilt.  This pattern also comes with a bag which I intend to make as well.  I have some fabric for the backing just need wading and deciding whether I am capable of quilting it myself not quite sure on what to do may leave it and get professionally quilted will have a think about it.

Until next time happy stitching.
