This week is a busy birthday week in our family.  My twin nephews and my eldest niece Sarsha all celebrated birthdays so we have three birthdays in two days.  Sarsha had a very busy week with her school play Annie she shared the lead role of Annie with her friend.  I went and saw her perform twice.  I am one proud Auntie.  The original movie is one of my all time favourites.  I really enjoy musicals.

This is what I gave to Thomas and Joshua.

Quillows.  They are off on a caravan trip to Central Australia for six weeks so these will come in very handy. Joshua has the red car quillow and Thomas the robot brown quillow.  I have terrible trouble telling them apart.

I have also be making some button hair clips.  Being modelled by my other three nieces, Mikayla, Nikita and Taneisha.

I used self covered buttons and put the bobby pin through the shank of the button.  I got a fat quarter of fabric with will Babushka dolls which fitted perfectly.  The hair clips would make great little gifts and you can make them in no time at all.

Until next time happy stitching

Sew many projects sew little time

Do you ever feel like you have so many projects to make and not enough time?  Do you sometimes don't know where to begin?  That has been me over the last few days so I have been doing a bit of this and that and feel like nothing is really progressing and then this all arrives in the post to tempt and distract me even further.

My Christmas in July purchases together with Block 4 o f Scandinavian Christmas um still only working on Block 1.  Will get there eventually.

I have finished this.

A Christmas decoration.  I got this at the Craft Show in July.  I have another one to make up.  I loved the wooden buttons so cute.

I have also been doing some crocheting as the weather last week here was cold it has improved in the last couple of days but I think that it is only a tease and it will be back to cold again.

Don't you love the bright colours.  I am hoping Mum will sew them altogether for me once I am done.  I still have a lot to do as it is going to be a big blanket.

Now what will I work on tonight?  My camera bag, Flat Nat or crocheting decisions decisions.

Until next time happy stitching.

Christmas in July continues

Even though Christmas in July has actually finished I have still been working on some of the patterns and I completed the Ruffle Christmas Tree designed by Sarah of Quilt Fabric Delights.  It was very easy to make.

I used a nice bright green spot fabric.  I did have some trouble finding the pom poms but eventually found what I wanted.

I have also finished my ladybug lap quilt.  Including the quilting.

I just love the soft and pretty colours of these fabrics and the three dimensional flowers.

I have also sewn on the borders for my Rebel wallhanging.

I just have to quilt this one now.  Another top to add to the pile.

The weather is cold here again so I will be doing more stitching this afternoon.

Until next time happy stitching.

Blocks of the Month

It is that time again.  It seems to come around so quickly.  I can't believe that it was Block Seven for Tail Feathers.  Where does the time go?

This afternoon I am going to have a play with the fabrics and hopefully put on some borders.

It was also Christmas Club time and I am now doing block four of Twas the Night Before Christmas.

I hope you can see Santa as he is not stitched yet but is really cute.  There is on seven blocks in this quilt so only three left to go.

Until next time happy stitching.

Sewing Sunday

Yesterday I had a Sewing Sunday which was a good idea since the weather here was pretty horrible.

This is what I have been up to.

This is the centre of a lap quilt I am making in a class.  I love ladybugs.

This is a design by Janelle Wind that I got from Inspired Stitches.  The pattern is called A Bluebirds Welcome.  It holds a A5 notebook.

This is you guessed it a Cinderberries design.  It featured in Homespun I can't remember the issue number sorry.  I had to wait a while for the handles.  They are hard on your fingers to stitch on but well worth it.

Until next time happy stitching.
