Christmas in July

Not long until Christmas in July begins this Thursday and I have been getting into the Christmas spirit by working on some Christmas projects.

Firstly at my craft class yesterday we did a Rudolph stitchery to raise funds for Red Nose day a charity that raises funds for SIDS.

This pattern is by Gail Pan and you make it into a folder to store all your Christmas Cards, stamps and pens etc so that everything is all together when you go to write out your cards.

I have brought myself this book.

And I am making this.  These are my fabrics

And this is the progress so far.

I am just waiting on a clock mechanism to complete it which I had to order.  It is just so cute and so much fun to work.

Visit Natalie's blog
to see more of her wonderful designs.

I will be back shortly with pictures from my Ant Quilt which is nearly complete.

Until next time happy stitiching.

Winter Colds

Hi sorry no photos this week I have been laid low with a cold for most of the week and haven't done much stitching.  I didn't even make it to class on Wednesday night but I did get to my local craft shop yesterday for an hour to collect for fabric for the checker board and to do the cutting so I now just need to sew it together ready for class this Wednesday.

Hope everyone is keeping well.  The weather is cold and rainy today good sewing weather.

Short but sweet today happy stitching.

Christmas in July

I have just joined Quilt Fabric Delights Christmas in July.  It sounds like it is going to be so much fun.  I just love Christmas.  This will be great as there will be no stress involved which sometimes happen at Christmas with people trying to fit everything in that needs to be done.  Hopefully my link works if you are interested in joining of finding out more.

I have received in the post my next bag.

Again the fabrics are just beautiful.  It has been great that each designer has used such different fabrics.  This bag is designed by one of my favourite designers Helen Stubbings of Hugs n Kisses.

I haven't finished my last bag yet.  It is cut out.  I have been a bit busy working on my Anttitude quilt.

The blocks are now ready for class on Wednesday to be put together.  My cherries are not that good but this is my first real go at needleturn.  I think I need to have a bit more practice.

Until next time happy stitching.

I can now show you pictures on the Quilt Aid quilt that I worked on with Sarah from Quilt Fabric Delights.  Click on the QFD Creative tab for purchase details if you are interested and to learn more about Quilt Aid click on the Quilt Aid logo on the side bar.  Quilt Aid raises money for the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital in Ethiopia.

The finishing kit for the quilt was designed by Janelle Wind and she has done such a great job.  The fabrics were just beautiful a range called Beach House by Robyn Pandolf

A big thank you to Sarah for letting me work on this project and for the great photos.

Blocks of the Month

This week I attended both my regular Tail Feathers and my Christmas Blocks of the Month.

These are this month's blocks.

Both are not yet finished you may be able to see the needle and thread in the photos.

The other thing I have been working on this week is my Rebel quilt.

It has been great fun to make.  I now need to applique this block onto some backing fabric but that will have to wait as I need to work on my Anttitude Quilt for class in a week and half.  There is never enough sewing time in a day but lucky for me next weekend is a long weekend with a holiday in Australia for the Queen's Birthday.  The Queen's birthday is actually in April but hey I am not complaining.

Until next time happy stitching.
