Inspired Stitches

I have just spent the most wonderful weekend away at my first retreat organised by Sarah at Quilt Fabric Delights Visit Sarah's blog

We had two wonderful Australian designers who designed some special projects for the weekend Natalie Ross of Natalie Ross In Stitches Visit Natalie's blog to see some of her designs which I just love she uses bright fabrics which are really me. The other designer is Natalie Lymer of Cinderberry Stitches which you may be familiar with as I have made many of her projects Visit Natalie's blog .

These are the projects I am making.  Natalie Lymer (Cinderberry Stitches)

These are a bag and needlebook which are so cute the pattern is called Just Darling what a great name because the little fairy looks like a darling.

These are the Gadget Bags which will be just wonderful to put all your equipment in for taking to classes.  If you need help with zippers Natalie has a tutorial on her blog.

These projects are Natalie Ross' (Natalie Ross In Stitches)

A strawberry sewing machine pin cushion strap.  What a great idea.  I seem to always have pins falling on the floor.

Strawberry Frenzy Bucket Bag with needle turn applique.  Natalie has used a beautiful variegated thread from Cottage Garden Threads which is wonderful to work with.  The pattern also includes a lanyard which I didn't get a picture of.

I will put up pictures when I finish these are the original products made by the designers.

We also received a pre-release pattern from Janelle Wind Visit Janelle's blog  which I will show you soon.

I would also like to say a big thank you to Sarah and her family as they really looked after me with my foot which I really appreciated.

Before I went away I had been busy working on other projects.

This is an Anne Gasby design and I have used a range of fabrics called Blush which I just love and had to buy so I went through all my patterns and found the little elephants.

Raspberry Cream by Cinderberry Stitches which I managed to machine quilt in the ditch.

And finally Teddy's Garden Treasures by Libby Richardson came back from the machine quilters so I managed to put on the binding on while the weather was a bit cooler last week.

Until next time happy stitching.

Look What I Made

Time for some show and tell.

I have finished not one but both bags from Bagalicious Club.

My tip is to use a walking foot when to sew around the top of the bag so you don't get any pleats because at that stage you don't want to have to unpick you just want to use your bag.  I have used both of them already.

I didn't get a chance during March to complete any of my unfinished projects but I have made up for it in April so I have only semi failed.

A Christmas project.  I need to do some close ups I think.  I just need to work out how I will hang it.  I was thinking may be I would get some Christmas ribbon to use as tabs.  I am not sure whether I can get a hanger big enough as it is rather long.

A little bag just big enough for a small purse, keys and a mobile for when you don't want to take everything with you.

And lastly I have been stitching another Cinderberries design called Creature Comforts.

Aren't the ladybugs so cute.  I have another Cinderberries design I am putting together and intend to use the left over fabric from that to use in this project.  I hope to be able to show you them shortly.

Until next time happy stitching

Happy Easter

Just a quick post to wish everyone a Happy and Safe Easter.

I now have four weeks off work so I will be back in a couple of days to show you what I have been doing besides resting my foot.

Happy Easter and don't get any chocolate on your stitching.
